Mürren
Mürren is a car free resort with some local traffic only. The mountain village is situated on a sunny terrace opposite the mighty peaks of Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau.
The highest village of the Bernese Oberland (altitude 1670 m above sealevel) can be reached by cable car from Stechelberg.

Arrival by car
You arrive on the Swiss highways in Interlaken and take the Wilderswil exit, direction Lauterbrunnen. There is a covered car park, linked with the BLM cable car station. You may also drive to the Schilthornbahn station in Stechelberg where you will find a large number of parking spaces. During the day, you load your luggage into a blue trolley and it will be taken up to Mürren in a separate transport cable car.
There are no roads for public access to Mürren and Gimmelwald and both villages are traffic free. Nevertheless there are special permits granted by the local authority for transport and construction companies and local trades to deliver goods and waste disposal. Traffic laws apply to all vehicle owners except farmers who are permitted to drive as and when necessary.
In Mürren everything can be reached within walking distance.

There is a car park at the Schilthorn Cableway station in Stechelberg.
Arrival by train
The nearest airports are Zürich, Genf, Basel and Bern. There are international train connections to and from all neighbouring countries which will bring you into Interlaken Ost and from there by regional train to Lauterbrunnen. From Lauterbrunnen you take the yellow postbus towards Stechelberg, where you board the Schilthorn Cableway to Mürren (latest cable car Sun - Thu 23.45h Fri & Sat 00.55h). The reliable Swiss railway system offers you luggage transfer from the airport, flyrail and special arrangements for tickets like the Swiss Travel Pass or the Swiss transfer ticket.

Bern
Mürren is within an hour from the Bern-Belp airport by train or car.
Zurich
Intercity trains to Bern, change there for Intercity train from Basel to Interlaken Ost. Journey time: approx 2 hours.

Direct Intercity trains operate between Basel and Interlaken Ost. Journey time: approx 2 hours.
